A short guide explaining how to encode your movie to a high quality h264 .mp4 movie.
1. Download Mediacoder click – select the 32-bit installer.
2. Once you’ve downloaded Mediacoder, you have to install it. You can install it anywhere, as long as you remember where you installed it.
3. Now download the encoding settings for Mediacoder here. Remember where you have saved the preset file, because you will need it later on.
4. Now we are ready to start Mediacoder. When Mediacoder starts up your internet browser will pop-up, you can close it if you want to.

Click once on the Mediacoder tray-icon, to get Mediacoder open once you’ve launched it.
5. In Mediacoder click on the file tab and select load presets.

My preset file is in my download folder, find the pldx.xml file and press open.

Once the settings are loaded the video tab should look something like this (5000 bitrate Format H.264 etc.)

6. Now that all the settings have been made, we can start encoding movies. Simply click the “+Add” icon and select the movie you want to encode. The newely encoded movie will be in the same folder as the original movie. However by changing the output folder (top-right corner) you can change the directory to where the encoded file is saved.

I think I solved it, the problem was the Auto Select at Video. I choose MEncoder for both and it started to compress.
I give it up. I made that 2.5 GB avi into a 18 MB sized one, but it looks pretty ugly.
And even Sony Vegas can’t read it. This whole process makes me insane.
